As director, Dickson works closely with the other Directors in ensuring the Assurance and Accountancy practices in the Channel Islands are running smoothly to meet clients’ needs. He moved to Jersey from the Bahamas in 2008, when he joined Baker Tilly.
He has an Upper Second (Honours) Bachelors of Commerce degree and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) having completed the exams in 2005. He also holds an audit practising certificate with the ACCA.
While specialising in Financial Services audit and advisory, Dickson has diverse experience with clients reporting under IFRS, UK GAAP and US GAAP in different sectors including; agriculture, manufacturing, technology, Public Sector/Donor Funded, Mining and Financial Services (including banking, insurance, Fund administration and Investment management). In addition, Dickson’s advisory experience includes Agreed upon procedures including those akin to a forensic investigation, vendor due diligence and liquidations in the Channel Islands. Dickson also manages complex accounting preparation work.
He previously worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Uganda and the Bahamas before joining the firm in early 2008.
Away from the office, Dickson spends time with his daughters, loves poetry (he is a published Poet!) and a good debate (having been a guild speaker while at University and a chairperson of the senior debating club while at A level).
