Baker Tilly Channel Islands is seeking a Tax Manager/Senior Manager with a minimum of 5 years' experience to join our growing Tax department. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of Clients, with a local and international focus.
Role Overview
As part of our Tax team, you will help clients navigate complex tax environments, managing compliance and providing advisory services. Your role will involve advising clients on local and international tax affairs, tax structuring, and the implications of cross-border transactions.Â
In this position, you will manage a varied portfolio of Financial Services clients, delivering both tax compliance and advisory work. Our team supports clients in understanding local and international tax requirements, managing operational risks, and optimising tax positions. You'll be part of a dynamic team addressing complex challenges in a continuously evolving tax landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage direct tax compliance for your portfolio and support the team on technical tax matters.
- Provide technical input to Business Development and draft tax articles for newsletters.
- Keep up to date with new tax legislation impacting the business and clients.
- Manage tax compliance and advisory engagements, including budgeting and resource management.
- Maintain strong client relationships, managing expectations, and ensuring exceptional service.
- Experience working with Financial Services, Private Equity/Funds, and/or Real Estate clients is desirable but not essential.
- Collaborate with colleagues across service lines and the network to deliver comprehensive tax solutions.
- Lead the compliance management process, adapting to challenges and improving workflows.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment.Â
- Experience in developing and delivering internal and external training.
- Participate in recruitment and contribute to a flexible, team-oriented culture.
About You:
- Qualified ACCA/ACA/CTA with strong technical skills and relevant experience in a tax role.
- Expertise in UK and Channel Islands tax regimes; experience with Corporate, Trust and Personal taxservices is desirable.
- Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a commitment to contributing to the growth of the firm.
