Meet the Team

Meet Samantha

Samantha joined Baker Tilly Channel Islands in March 2017.  Below is an insight into her first few months with the team.

My previous role was as an accounts payable clerk for a local company. The transition to Baker Tilly Channel Islands was seamless.  I was really looking forward to starting and wanted to jump headfirst into the role.  The staff here are extremely supportive and friendly and made me feel very welcome and part of the team from day one.

Since joining the team I have found my work to be extremely varied, no two days are the same! One week I can be working on a new local client and visiting their offices, another week I can be assisting on a large complex client. I am currently still in the training phase so I’m learning lots of new things on a daily basis. It’s never boring!

It’s not all work focused at Baker Tilly Channel Islands. Since joining I have been encouraged to get involved with the many sporting events the business takes part in.  So far I have competed in the Macmillan Rowathon and the Canaccord Corporate cup race.  In the next two months I will also be taking part in the Silkworth challenge and the Hawksford Castle Chase.

There are lots accountancy jobs advertised yet what appealed most to me about Baker Tilly Channel Islands was the drive and ambition of the staff.  Baker Tilly Channel Islands is offering me so much more than a brilliant career, they are offering me the opportunity to be part of a growing business. The audit team is relatively small compared to larger organisations, something which really appealed to me as I didn’t want to feel like I was just a part of “the machine”.  At Baker Tilly Channel Islands I feel like my ideas are really appreciated.

I would absolutely recommend Baker Tilly Channel Islands as an employer!
