David, is a highly experienced director in the Tax practice in the Channel Islands, having moved to Jersey from the UK in 2008.
Armed with an undergraduate degree in Political Economy and a post-graduate degree in International and European Law, David's credentials are fortified by his qualifications with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) in 2003 (FCA) and the Chartered Institute of Tax since 2005 (CTA). David brings a wealth of knowledge to his role.
David's expertise in tax is comprehensive, spanning the intricacies of managing employment tax affairs of multinational groups, UK VAT, corporate tax and other wider matters impacting Jersey and Guernsey property holding vehicles and providing the specialist inbound structuring for high-net-worth individuals and businesses relocating to Jersey. His advisory specialisms further extend to Jersey and Guernsey share schemes, owner-managed businesses and navigating Jersey and Guernsey’s economic substance requirements.
Prior to joining our firm in 2011, David honed his skills with two of the 'Big 4' accountancy practices—Deloitte and PwC in the North West, as well as PwC in the Channel Islands.
David's commitment to the field is further exemplified by his past membership on the Jersey branch committee for the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Outside the office, David enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, reading and listening to music. David has always been a keen sportsman including playing football, cricket, golf and squash in his younger years. These days he focuses on training for and running marathons, which to date includes four of the big six Global marathons. David has also been an important team member for Baker Tilly Channel Islands men’s 5k team, which won the Corporate Cup back-to-back in 2022 and 2023.
