Gerrit Heyneke

Gerrit joined Baker Tilly Channel Islands in July 2022 as Manager in Jersey's Assurance and Advisory department.

Gerrit graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2015 and is a member of SAICA having completed his articles in South Africa in 2018.

In his role as Senior Manager, Gerrit works closely with Peter, Hafeez, Rosanne and Sandy to ensure the Assurance and Advisory practices in the Channel Islands are running smoothly to meet clients’ needs.

Gerrit is a driving force behind the firm’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. His passion for sustainability and responsible business practices is backed by his completion of the ESG Specialization from the Corporate Finance Institute. Gerrit is dedicated to helping clients navigate the complexities of ESG reporting and compliance while identifying opportunities to integrate sustainable practices into their operations for long-term success.

Gerrit previously worked for one of the ‘Big 4’ accountancy firms till May 2022. There he worked mainly with Private Funds that invest in a range of private equity, listed equity, and real estate assets. 

Gerrit has diverse experience with clients reporting under IFRS, IFRS for SME's, UK GAAP and US GAAP in different sectors including; cryptocurrency, agriculture, manufacturing, technology, real estate development, retail and Financial Services (including Private equity, Capital markets, Fund administration and Investment management).

He enjoys reading, golfing, exploring new hobbies, and learning new computer skills in his free time.
