Baker Tilly Channel Islands Welcomes Laurie Canter to Jersey for Inspiring Golf Session with Junior Players

Aug 5, 2024

Baker Tilly Channel Islands proudly hosted their brand ambassador, British professional golfer Laurie Canter in Jersey. During his two-day visit to the Island, Laurie played 9 holes of golf with junior players at Royal Jersey Golf Club, providing them with an exciting opportunity to see a top class professional first hand.

Ewan Spraggon, Managing Director of Baker Tilly Channel Islands, joined Laurie and the juniors, Ryan Hafey from La Moye Golf Club and Anabelle Lucas-Villar from Royal Jersey Golf Club, on the course, and shared their excitement about the event and the partnership.

"Having Laurie in Jersey and witnessing his interaction with Ryan and Anabelle was fantastic," stated Ewan Spraggon. "Seeing the juniors play alongside a professional of Laurie's calibre was a proud moment for us. Laurie's commitment to nurturing young talent aligns perfectly with our values at Baker Tilly Channel Islands and this event exemplifies our belief in supporting the next generation and fostering community connections".

Laurie Canter, who has recently captured the 2024 European Open title on the DP World Tour in Germany and achieved a commendable tied 25th place at The Open at Royal Troon, thoroughly enjoyed his visit and his ongoing partnership with Baker Tilly Channel Islands.

Laurie commented "Playing golf with Ryan and Anabelle at Royal Jersey was a great experience. Their enthusiasm and potential are inspiring. I'm excited to be in Jersey and grateful to Baker Tilly Channel Islands for creating such meaningful opportunities for young players. I am also delighted to be the brand ambassador for Baker Tilly Channel Islands and look forward to our continued partnership."

The golf session with the juniors not only highlighted Laurie's commitment to fostering young talent but also demonstrated Baker Tilly Channel Islands' dedication to supporting and promoting growth within the community.

Whilst in Jersey Laurie joined Baker Tilly Channel Islands for a corporate golf event at La Moye Golf Club, which saw a donation of £500 being made to The Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (JSPCA) for the number of birdies achieved during the event.
