Chika Nwankwonta

Chika is an Associate Director in Baker Tilly Channel Islands’ Assurance and Advisory department, based in the Jersey office.

She joined the firm in 2026, bringing with her more than 14 years of experience in professional services, including senior leadership roles at Deloitte UK. Her experience spans audit and assurance across private capital structures, real estate, investment vehicles, and complex financial entities. 

A Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Chika holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Nigeria and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2014. 

Her expertise lies in audit execution, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and governance across complex and high-risk environments. She has led and overseen large, technically demanding engagements, with a strong focus on key judgement areas such as valuations, financial instruments, and going concern. 

She combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, commercial mindset. She is known for challenging assumptions, bringing clarity to complex issues, and supporting senior stakeholders including boards, CFOs, and fund managers, in making informed decisions. 

Chika leads high-performing teams and builds strong, trusted relationships with clients. Her approach is collaborative, solutions-focused, and grounded in delivering consistently high-quality outcomes, even in fast-paced environments. 

Outside of work, Chika enjoys photography and creative expression, often bringing ideas to life through styled, editorial-inspired shoots. She also enjoys travelling and discovering new places that continue to shape her creative outlook and perspective.
